How do I find the county park closest to my home? Where are the county parks?

How can I buy tickets to local theme parks? How much are the tickets?
During the parks' seasons, individual tickets for Paramount's Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens and Water Country are sold at Recreation and Parks, Human Services Building, 8600 Dixon Powers Drive, Government Center. Information on the availability of tickets is provided on the Theme Park hotline at (804) 501-7500. Information on prices is available at

Does the county have public pools at the parks?
No, the county does not own or operate any swimming pools. There are several private associations in Henrico County that have swimming pools.
What are the cancellation/refund policies of the Recreation and Parks Department?
For programs: Requests for refunds must be made in writing and received 10 working days prior to the beginning of the program. (Exception: Senior Trips)

For picnic shelters: Refunds are given only in case of inclement weather that hampers use of shelter area. No picnic shelter reservation will be switched to another date or refunded due to rain until the actual reservation date is past. All refund requests must be made in writing to:

For recreation centers: Requests for refunds must be made in writing and received 30 working days prior to the date of the event. All refund requests must be made in writing to the recreation center that has been reserved.
How do I find out about volunteer or internship opportunities with Henrico Recreation and Parks?
Henrico Recreation & Parks volunteer positions may include daytime, evening, or weekend hours on an as needed basis. Please note that we do not accept volunteers for our Summer Playground Program. Information is provided at

What do I do if I see something wrong going on in the park?
Recreation and Parks has a Park Watch Program to help keep the parks clean and safe. If you observe someone breaking park regulations, do not attempt to take any action yourself. Report the incident promptly and accurately to one of the following numbers:
