The dump accepts solid waste as allowed by the Solid Waste Ordinance and our Solid Waste Permit (Number 545) issued by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. This includes trash collected from homes, waste collected from businesses, waste resulting from construction or demolition and land-clearing debris. Please note: drums and tanks must be emptied, thoroughly washed and opened on both ends before we will accept them.

Tickets to the public use areas at the county's dumps can be purchased at either the Public Utilities Customer Service Office location (804- 501-4505, Administration Annex Building, Government Center, 4301 East Parham Road) or at the landfill site. A book of 10 tickets costs $27 and a book of 15 tickets costs $40.
Where can I take old paint, oil, etc.?
Residentially produced oil, paint and antifreeze can be thrown out at either landfill (dump). However, a commercial customer needs to use the business's waste management firm to dispose of such material.
