Beginning Oct. 1 "Henrico, Virginia" Will Be Our New Address!
Our residents have spoken! As you know, an overwhelming majority of county
residents supported the address change from "Richmond, Virginia" to "Henrico,
Virginia" in a survey last spring. A full 61 percent of respondents
voted "yes" to change our mailing address, and if you haven't
already, now is the time to start using it!

The County's Own Mailing Address
Effective October 1, 2008, the mailing address for the county general government
changed to "Henrico, Virginia." With this transition, the United
States Postal Service (USPS) has issued a new post office box number for
the county government. All citizen correspondence on or after October 1,
2008 should include the new address as shown on the right.
Please remember to include the appropriate county department and name of the individual where applicable.

Who Should Use the "Henrico" Address?
With the exception of Glen Allen and Sandston, if you live in Henrico County,
or your business is located in Henrico, then you may now use the "Henrico,
Virginia" address.
For the zip codes not surveyed (23222, 23223, 23226, 23227 and 23230) the
USPS advised that you may now use "Henrico, Virginia" permanently.
For mailing addresses in zip code 23075, "Henrico" is the preferred
address, but "Highland Springs, Virginia" remains an acceptable
alternate community name.
No Formal Address Change Required
You do not need to (and should not) initiate a formal address change through
the USPS. Simply begin using "Henrico, Virginia" in your correspondence.
Over time, you will begin to receive some mail from various utilities and
businesses using the "Henrico, Virginia" address. Any mail sent
to you from Henrico County Government will also use the new address.
