comprehensive approach to addressing the problems in the County's mature areas, in order to foster healthy and vibrant residential and commercial communities.
Henrico County Enterprise Zone Program

As of April 15, 2003
the County of Henrico was notified of the acceptance of the
application to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community
Development for the redesignation of the City of Richmond's
North Enterprise Zone to include areas of Henrico County
along Broad Street and to include the Nine Mile Road Sub
Zone.
On July 20, 2004 the
County was notified of the approval of its application for
inclusion of Staples Mill Road, Lakeside Avenue, and Brook
Road in the Enterprise Zone.
On June 20, 2006, the County was notified by the State of the approval of its application for inclusion of portions of Laburnum Avenue, Mechanicsville Turnpike, Audubon Drive, and Williamsburg Road in the Enterprise Zone. The State also approved a new County incentive to provide grants for off-site improvements for the creation of new jobs in the Enterprise Zone.
On March 18, 2008, The County was notified by the State of the approval of its application for inclusion of portions of East Laburnum Avenue, South Laburnum Avenue, Azalea Avenue, Richmond-Henrico Turnpike, Hungary Road, Woodman Road, Quioccasin Road, Three Chopt Road, Eastridge Road, and Parham Road. The State also approved new County incentives to provide grants for paving, landscaping, demolition, and façade improvements for existing small businesses.
