Meet the Board of Supervisors
Not sure what magisterial district you live in? Find out
by using our Registrar's
polling place locator (opens a new window).
The Board of Supervisors has five members,
one representing each of the County's five magisterial districts:
Brookland, Fairfield, Three Chopt, Tuckahoe and Varina. Supervisors
are elected for four-year terms. The Board is the policy-making
body of the County.
The Board elects a chairman and vice chairman in January
of each year. The chairman presides at Board meetings and serves
as the official head of County government. The vice chairman
assumes these responsibilities in the absence of the chairman.

Past Board Chairmen
In 1934, exactly 300 years after its establishment as one
of the eight original shires in the Commonwealth of Virginia,
Henrico became the only Virginia locality to adopt the county
manager form of government.
