Water and sewer customers are billed every two months and pay both a service charge and a volume charge for water and sewer services. Initial bills for new water or sewer accounts include a customer set up charge of $10.00.

*CCF stands for hundreds of cubic feet. One hundred cubic feet is approximately 748 gallons.

During warmer months, many residents use water for their yards that does not go into the sewage treatment system. Since water and sewer usage is not metered separately, the sewer volume charge for a single family residence is based on whichever is less: actual water usage or the water usage determined from the first meter reading cycle of the calendar year. If the first reading is estimated, or if your service begins during or after the first billing cycle, sewer billing will not exceed charges for 20 CCF.

Strong Waste Surcharges
In addition to sewer service and volume charges listed above, Commercial and Industrial customers are subject to surcharges for strong waste with concentration averages in excess of 250 or 275 milligrams per liter, as follows:
Biochemical Oxygen Demand	$ = (average - 250) x CCF usage x .002297
Suspended Solids	$ = (average - 275) x CCF usage x .001011
Some Commercial and Industrial customers receive monthly bills.

Refuse Collection Fees

The Department of Public Utilities provides a refuse collection service in some areas of the County. The bi-monthly charge for weekly curbside collection of refuse is $26.00 for residential customers who subscribe to the service. For commercial firms, the fee is charged for each three containers of refuse or an equivalent amount.
