About Us
The Solid Waste Division provides a variety of services to
our residents and businesses. These services include:
Curbside trash collection in a number of areas of
the County
Curbside recycling in a number of areas of the County
Household trash drop-off at two public use areas
Recycling centers at 15 locations throughout the
County
Solid waste disposal services at a permitted solid
waste landfill
Bulky waste curbside pick-up
Bagged leaf collection
Neighborhood cleanups
Our operations are governed locally by Chapter
17 of the County Ordinance and regulated by the Commonwealth
through the Virginia Code 9
VAC 20-80-00.

Curbside Trash Collection
We offer weekly curbside trash pick-up on a weekly basis
to a large portion of Henrico County. The monthly charge
for this service is $15.00. The fee is added to your water
and sewer bill which is issued every other month. To sign-up

Public Use Areas (the "dump")
The County operates
two Public Use Areas that are for residential disposal of
trash and recycling. These facilities are open seven days
per week from 7:30 a.m.
until 7:00 p.m. (except on certain holidays).
In eastern Henrico we operate the
Charles City Road Public Use Area located at 2075 Charles
City Road. In the Western Henrico we operate the Springfield
Road Public Use Area located at 10600 Fords Country Lane.
These facilities are available for use by County residents
for disposal of their household trash and recycling. Disposal
fees for trash are $3 per trip. You may also purchase a
book of tickets at a discounted rate. Each ticket is valid
for one trip. At both of these facilities the recycling
centers are available free of charge. Here is more

Recycling
Henrico County supports and promotes recycling as a way to
conserve our natural resources. Through the
Central
Waste Management Authority (CVWMA), the County offers
opportunities to recycle newspapers, mixed paper (junk mail,
magazines), aluminum, cardboard, glass, metal cans and #1
and #2 plastics. Curbside recycling is offered in many areas
of the County and Drop-off recycling centers are located throughout
the County at most fire stations and the public use areas
at the Charles City Road and Springfield Road Landfills. For

Landfill Services
The Department of Public Utilities operates a County-owned
landfill near Nuckols Road in western Henrico for disposal
of solid waste commercially collected. For information regarding
residential disposal, please visit our Public
Use Area page. Commercial waste collected from within
the County of Henrico or from Henrico businesses is accepted
for $50 per ton. All out-of-county solid waste will be billed
at $65 per ton. Landfill hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Monday through Saturday (except
on certain holidays). More

Bulky Waste
Large items such as furniture, appliances, and yard waste
such as brush and tree limbs are collected by our Bulky
Waste Collection crews. Items such as these will be collected
by us for a fee of $43 per request. More

Yard Waste
Residential yard waste may be brought to one of our Public Use Areas at no charge if free of trash and debris.
Leaves
Free collection of bagged leaves (Leaf Brochure) is provided annually from
November to mid-February throughout Henrico County.
